Self Defense for Women
The professor : Roger Ashton
teaches women to use their special qualities, develop their weak qualities, and teach them to fight and win.
teaches XIng Yi forms to build strength and mental power; Tai Chi techniques to develop sensitivity, and throwing techniques to complement.
Women become stronger physically, and more self-confident. They learn how to defend themselves, and win. This combination of systems is based on internal martiel arts philosophy and approach.
The combination of Qi Gong, Tai Chi, and Xing Yi provides students with a set of systems that are compatible, and that fonction therapeutically and practically.
Roger Ashton's Tai Chi background is mostly in Wu Style. In China, from 1987-88, he studied Sun Gong Tai Chi, and Xing Yi Liu He. All his teachers have been advanced Kung Fu masters specialized in the internal martial arts. Level one of Tai Chi is about learning the forms, basic exercises, walkings, standing, and fundamental ideas. Level two is about correcting the forms, and takes for granted the students know the forms. Level three is about building energy, leg strength, and mental power, along with the breath. Level four is about learning push-hands, self-defense, and throwing. Level five is about opening the three gates. Level six is about integration.
