Proposed subject:  Designing Internet of Things (IoT) application to understand product and consumer behavior in retail environments

Abstract: The Internet of Things (IoT) is a modern concept that can be defined as a global infrastructure, enabling advanced services by interconnecting (physical and virtual) things based on existing and evolving interoperable information and communication technologies (ITU-T Y.2060). The exponential expansion of so called “smart devices” creates unprecedented opportunities to gain real time insights. The exponential expansion of so-called “smart devices” creates unprecedented opportunities to gain real-time insights.

Today, while many retail companies have online stores enabling them to effectively measure their customer behavior, they lose all these insights in their physical stores.

In this seminar, we will discuss how IoT technologies help retail manager’s decision making by providing them precise information on products and customer’s behaviors.
