A two-part Saturday afternoon lecture-workshop series
Lead by: Craig Morrison, Ph.D
Part of McGill University's Personal and Cultural Enrichment (PACE) Program
Whether in the form of storytelling, memoirs, interviews, biography, or autobiography, we are fascinated by life's twists and turns: our own, family members, people we know and admire, heroes, and celebrities. These 2 workshops explore the tools and techniques for creating life histories, and discuss related issues: truth and embellishment, privacy and permission, research and fact checking, intent and consequences, and reflection and meaning. The workshops will include practical exercises, and participants will be encouraged to share their work in progress. Dr. Morrison will draw from his experiences in interviewing over 100 veteran musicians as well as his parents, editing his father's memoirs, and writing journals.
This session is co-presented by The McGill Writing Centre and The McCord Museum
Registration will be available soon.
