With both feet standing in my bookscape, I am armed with a bright orange Black&Decker drill and a 16-inch drill bit. I am a large paper weight pressed hard against a column of books: contemporary Quebec landscapes. Ready? I push the razor-sharp point in the center of the first cover, and pull the trigger. I am hollowing out a half-an-inch wide well in this, the body of history. There’s printed pulp flying everywhere.
