« LA MER TROBLA » Dans La mer trobla, les oeuvres de Simon Grenier-Poirier étudient le processus naturel de l’érosion qu’elles reproduisent de façon contrôlée. La vidéo Li ciel nerchi, La mer trobla, présentée en diptyque, montre des structures artificielles, construites par l’artiste, dans lesquelles ce dernier reproduit le mouvement du vent et de l’eau responsable du phénomène. Enfermés, les grains de sable se décomposent sans cesse dans un mouvement poétique circulaire sans début et sans fin. Le mouvement ainsi présenté participe d’une déconstruction de la narration linéaire et présente l’érosion non pas comme un phénomène de la perte, mais plutôt comme une histoire à reconstruire sans cesse.

In La mer trobla, Simon Grenier-Poirier studies the natural process of erosion and sets out to control the reproduction of this phenomenon in his works. The video Li ciel nerchi, La mer trobla, presented as a diptych, reveals the artificial structures created by the artist in which he reproduces the movement of the wind and water that is responsible for the erosion process. Trapped in the artist’s structures, the grains of sand become infinitely smaller in a circular motion that has no beginning or end. Presented in this way, the circular motion of decomposition deconstructs linear narration and presents erosion not as a phenomenon of waste, but rather as a story to be reconstructed and retold again and again.
