Jennifer Johnson has been playing in and around Montreal for the past 15 years, as a solo performer, as part of several small ensembles (including the Tritones) and as a guitarist, vocalist and keyboardist with the progressive six-piece band The Bastard Sound System. She has also been a session musician for innumerable acts such as Big Bat and the Bluestones and has toured with the Gruesomes offshoot, The Feztones with Bobby Beaton and John Davis.
She attained a BFA in music, went on to a Master's degree in Musicology and now teaches guitar, violin and piano privately.
As a songwriter, currently she is making her way back into the acoustic scene and has been working hard to develop and record her own music which has roots in folk, blues and rock styles. She has been in the studio, working on her first album project, which will be titled "Music For Public Executions" and will hopefully be available by the summer of 2011.
